Cake: yellow cake iced with vanilla/buttercream icing.
The buttercream icing also is used as a thin filling between the layers, as well as for any decorating on the cake itself.
Since the cookies used to decorate each cake are so colorful, the icing for the cake is left white.
Minicake: also yellow cake with vanilla/buttercream icing.
The icing poured over the top is the buttercream icing thinned to a pourable consistency.
Cookies: vanilla sugar cookies are iced with a cookie decorating icing that cools to a hard finish.
(No nuts or honey are used in either the cake or cookie recipes).
